DIRECTOR & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

  • Hi my name is Abigail! (or Abby for short) I am a Paediatric Occupational Therapist servicing children to young adults, 0-25 years along with their families.

    Originally from the Gold Coast, I moved back from Sydney, where I practiced within private paediatric healthcare settings to open my dream clinic here at Creative Minds Therapy. In addition, I have experience working in mental health and rehabilitation. I have also been trained in “Learn to Play” by Karen Stagnitti and DIR-Floortime.

    I work with a variety of children with or without diagnoses, including, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, Global Developmental Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, behavioural, emotional concerns and more.

    In my spare time I enjoy researching and increasing my knowledge in all areas OT, however, have a particular strong interest in Sensory Processing Disorder along with Animal-Assisted Therapy.

    In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, beloved Labradors and running or swimming at the beach.

DIRECTOR & SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

  • My name is Adriana and I am a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist at Creative Minds Therapy. I strive to provide personalised therapy to every child and family offering fun and engaging activities. I believe in building relationships with families in order to equip parents with the necessary tools to enhance their child’s communication in everyday life.

    My previous clinical experience has equipped me with a variety of clinical skills such as, early language development, phonological and articulation disorders, motor speech disorders, developmental language disorders and stuttering.I have a passion for children’s language development and have explored this through my work in the private practice sector, private school sector and community based work.In addition to my Bachelor of Speech Pathology, I have also completed additional training in:

    - Darbyshire Trained

    I have a particular interest and diverse experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder and Selective Mutism.

    I am motivated by seeing these children achieve their goals and increase their confidence with communicating in all settings such as home, school and in the wider community.

    When I am not working, you will find me at reformer Pilates, bush hiking, at the beach, listening to music, singing and spending time with my family.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

  • My name is Catherine and I am an eager and proactive paediatric and mental health Occupational Therapist that is passionate about enabling equal opportunities and support, whilst having a client centered approach to practice to achieve my client's goals. Furthermore, I am all about making therapy fun and meaningful to maximise my client's pOTential!

    I strive to build positive therapeutic relationships with my clients, their families/carers, and communities that are meaningful to them. Collaboration with other disciplines and supports is important to me to ensure that every client is supported.

    My work experiences in early childhood intervention, child safety, and community mental health, have shaped my practice. Professionally, I enjoy expanding my knowledge and skills by regularly completing professional development and reading research to ensure that my clients are receiving evidence-based practice.

    I am a Gold Coast girl with Peruvian roots who enjoys painting, swimming and taking my dog on walkies!

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

  • Sarah completed her Speech Pathology degree at the University of Queensland and has since spent a number of years within a private practice on the Sunshine Coast and more recently the Northern Rivers. 

    Sarah is passionate about delivering effective and compassionate therapy, aiming to empower children and their families while demonstrating kindness, warmth, and fun. She takes a strengths-based approach relevant to clients’ needs and functional goals, striving to ensure her therapy involves collaboration with relevant stakeholders for functional progress. With a diverse background working in schools, homes, via telehealth, and in clinics, she has experience supporting language and speech development, social communication, fluency, and literacy. She particularly enjoys supporting neurodivergent children, finding fulfilment in contributing to their growth and development.

    Continuously motivated by the impactful nature of speech therapy, Sarah draws inspiration and energy from the meaningful connections she establishes with clients and their families to assist them in achieving their goals and thriving in their environments. She finds joy in spending time outdoors and with her loved ones.

    Sarah is available for clinic appointments at Medical on Burleigh Wednesdays.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

  • My name is Amelia, and I am a registered Paediatric Occupational Therapist committed to supporting children in developing the foundational skills that enable them to thrive as their authentic selves. I am passionate about fostering compassionate and collaborative relationships with children, their families, and communities, as I believe that embracing each child’s unique strengths and individuality is key to their growth and well-being beyond the therapy setting.

    In my practice, I strive to create a joyful and inclusive environment, where therapy sessions are designed to honour each child’s unique interests and preferences. I have experience working with children with and without diagnosis. I have worked with children who are neurodivergent, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sensory Processing Differences, and other developmental variations. My approach focuses on recognising and celebrating each child’s inherent strengths and supporting them in ways that are meaningful and affirming to their identity.

    My goal is to empower children and their families, providing support that respects and values each child’s individuality as we work together to achieve outcomes that enhance their quality of life. I am committed to creating a space where every child feels seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are.

    Outside of work, I enjoy running, spending time at the beach, and practicing Pilates.

    Amelia services the northern NSW area along working on Wednesday’s in clinic at Medical on Burleigh.

SPEECH PATHOLOGY ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

  • My name is Lucy and I am CMT’s SP Allied Health Assistant.

    I am an aspiring Speech Pathologist commencing my final year of a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and have practical experience working in clinical settings supporting children and their families. With an extensive background as a learn-to-swim instructor and netball coach for children of all ages, I have a love for supporting children in unlocking their full potential.

    I am passionate about tailoring therapy to support diverse learning styles and fostering a safe learning environment for children to thrive in their communication and achieve their therapy goals.

    In my spare time, I enjoy challenging my physical limits as a competitive netball player and a volunteer lifesaver. Otherwise, you’ll find me relaxing with a book by the beach.

  • My name is Makayla, and I am a Paediatric Occupational Therapist at Creative Minds Therapy. I am passionate about creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where children feel valued, understood, and empowered to thrive. My approach focuses on celebrating each child’s unique strengths while tailoring therapy sessions to their specific interests and goals. I adopt a strengths-based approach in my practice, recognising and celebrating each child’s unique abilities while providing support that is both meaningful and affirming to their identity.

    I believe in the power of building strong, compassionate relationships with children, their families, and the broader community. By working collaboratively, I aim to equip families and caregivers with practical tools and strategies that enable children to participate meaningfully in their everyday activities and lives.

COUNSELLOR & SUPPORT WORKER

  • My name is Michaella, I am a child and adolescent counsellor at Creative Minds Therapy. I am strongly passionate about creating a positive difference and supporting young minds navigate their feelings and emotions while providing evidence based techniques to help improve behaviours, reduce anxiety and support children to thrive. 

    I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where children feel understood and empowered to explore their emotions and manage their anxiety. I use evidence-based techniques tailored to the child's unique needs, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and play therapy while using a client-centered approach.  

    I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, providing guidance on how to support their child's emotional well-being at home and in other settings. Together, we can help your child build the tools and confidence they need to overcome anxiety and thrive in their everyday life.

    Outside of work I enjoy being at the beach with my family including Marley, our sausage dog.  

    I am available at Medical on Burleigh on Monday, Thursday and Fridays. 

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT

  • My name is Ali and I am CMT’s OT Allied Health Assistant!
    I have five years of experience as a registered teacher in Gold Coast primary and high schools, and I am currently studying Occupational Therapy at Southern Cross University. I am also mum to a curious four-year-old boy and very busy two-year-old girl who bring me endless joy and fun!

    With a love for reading, I always dreamt of becoming a high school English teacher. However, becoming a mum soon after entering the teaching field ignited an intense passion for early childhood development. As a therapy assistant, I am keen to create relationships with children and their families and provide a warm and playful approach in all that I do. I am so excited to be working under the supervision of Abigail and Adriana to deliver engaging strategies to assist your child in achieving their therapy goals.

    My hobbies are getting outside with my family, camping, reading, meeting up with friends for coffee, and dancing. I grew up on the Gold Coast and love going to the beach!

THERAPY DOG

  • Kora is Creative Minds Therapy’s therapy dog!

    Kora is a Labrador x Golden Retriever from Career Dogs Australia who has become a certified Therapy Dog through Therapy Dogs Australia. I have undergone extensive training to be able to be an appropriate, well-mannered therapy dog at Creative Minds Therapy with Mrs. Abby.

    Kora is gentle soul who loves playing with people and making lives a whole lot better. She has high motivation / play skills and golden fluffy ears.
